Why daily bird games?
The same daily-puzzle loop that made Wordle and Connections so sticky works brilliantly for bird ID. Each day's puzzle is the same for everyone, so it's worth sharing your result, comparing with friends, and coming back tomorrow. The games here are designed to teach you to identify British birds faster — the silhouettes train you on shape, the call game trains your ear, the Wordle builds vocabulary, and the habitat round connects each species to where it actually lives.
How to play
- Free, no signup needed — every game works without an account. Sign in only if you want to save your streaks and earn badges.
- One puzzle per day — same puzzle for everyone, refreshed at midnight UK time. Solving today's puzzle locks it; the answer is revealed.
- Hints — Silhouette & Bird Call progressively reveal rarity and habitat clues after attempt 3 and 5.
- Share your result — Wordle-style emoji grid you can post to Twitter / Reddit / WhatsApp.
About the bird data
Every game pulls from Where's That Bird's UK Birdedex — 302 British species, photos sourced from Wikimedia Commons (CC-licensed), calls from the Wikimedia + xeno-canto archives. The pool is curated to British birds, not US ones, so you won't be stumped by a species you've never seen on your home patch.
