What you'll see
The historic osprey eyrie has been monitored continuously since 1959. Capercaillie viewing is strictly by booked dawn-watch in early April only — limited tickets, sold out fast. Crested tit + Scottish crossbill are reliable in the surrounding pinewoods year-round. Black grouse on adjacent moorland.
The wider Speyside birding region is excellent — combine with Findhorn Valley for golden eagle, Cairngorm summit for ptarmigan + dotterel, Loch Insh for slavonian grebe.
How to visit
Pay & display, free for RSPB members. Visitor centre + osprey hide. Pinewood trails. Caper viewing strictly by booked dawn-watch ticket.
