What you'll see

Hobby is regular over the heath in summer hunting dragonflies. Stone-curlew (rare) used to breed here; check current status. Spring brings woodlark song-flight.
Winter: Shipstal Beach gives Poole Harbour views — avocets, Brent geese, occasional spoonbill, plus regular peregrine + winter raptors over the heath.
